What's actually in it

About a two-minute read. No listicles, no filler.

  • This weekend, day by day. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with times and neighborhoods, so you can see at a glance whether Saturday morning is already spoken for.
  • A handful of free picks. Storytimes, park programs, museum free days — the things that cost nothing beyond parking.
  • One thing worth the drive. A festival, a harvest day, a lantern walk. Something you wouldn’t have found by searching, because you didn’t know to search for it.
  • A rainy-day backup. Indoors, roomy, and open when the forecast turns. October through March, this is usually the most-clicked line in the email.
  • What's new on the site. New sources we started reading, new city pages, that sort of thing. Two lines at most.

How often, and how long

Nothing is being sent right now. The list is open, the digest isn’t running yet, and you’ll not get a confirmation email — signing up simply records your address.

The plan once it starts: once a week, Thursday morning, Pacific time. That’s early enough to make a weekend plan and late enough that the library has published its schedule.

There will be no welcome sequence, no "just checking in", and no second email if you don’t open the first one. One send a week is the whole program.

What we do with your address

  • It’s used for the digest. That’s all. No other mailings, no "partner offers", no re-targeting.
  • It’s never sold, rented, or shared. Not with sponsors, not with the venues we list, not with anyone.
  • One click and you're out. Every email will carry an unsubscribe link that works immediately — no login, no "tell us why", no ten-day delay. It works today too, from the link below.
  • We keep very little. Your address, the date you signed up, which form you used, and a coarse network prefix plus browser string so we can investigate sign-up abuse. Nothing else, and none of it is used to build a profile of you.
  • You can have the record deleted. Unsubscribing keeps a row so we never accidentally re-add you; if you would rather it were gone entirely, email contactstumblapp@gmail.com and we will delete it.

The long version is in our privacy policy.

Rather not hand over an email?

Completely fair. Everything in the digest is on the site already, free and without an account — the email just saves you the trip.
