Chip in, if you want to
Stumbl is free, has no ads, and is going to stay that way. If it’s been useful and you’d like to put a few dollars toward the bill, this is where you can.
Any amount is genuinely fine. It goes to the hosting, the domain, and the hours that go into keeping the listings honest.
Handled by Stripe on their own page, which is branded Spaghetti Labs, LLC — that’s us. Pick your own amount.
What this pays for
Short list. It isn’t an expensive site to run.
- Servers and the domain. A few dollars a month for hosting, plus the annual registration.
- Keeping the listings straight. Calendars move, venues rename themselves, a library changes its software and a connector stops working. Fixing that is most of the work.
- New sources. Every city, library system and park district publishes differently, so adding one is an afternoon rather than a checkbox.
The small print, up front
- It buys you nothing. No ad-free tier (there are no ads), no early access, no priority listing, no feature requests moved up the queue. Everyone sees the same site. If chipping in bought influence over what gets listed, the listings would be worth less.
- It isn’t tax-deductible. Spaghetti Labs, LLC is an ordinary for-profit company, not a nonprofit or a registered charity. This is a voluntary contribution, not a charitable donation, and there’s no receipt that a tax authority will care about.
- We never see your card. The payment happens on Stripe’s own page, under their terms and their privacy policy. Stripe passes us the amount and the email address on the payment, and nothing else. No card number ever reaches this site, and no payment code runs on it.
- It’s one-time, not a subscription. Nothing recurring is set up, so there’s nothing to remember to cancel later.
- Changed your mind? Email contactstumblapp@gmail.com and we’ll refund it. No argument, no form, no "tell us why".
- It doesn’t make you a customer. The site comes with no warranty and no promise it’ll still be here in five years, and chipping in doesn’t change that. See the terms.
Ways to help that cost nothing
Honestly, some of these are worth more than the money.
- Tell someone. A class WhatsApp group, a parents' listserv, the other grown-ups at the playground. Word of mouth is how anyone finds this.
- Report a listing that’s wrong. Wrong time, wrong place, cancelled, or plainly not a family event — email contactstumblapp@gmail.com. These get fixed fast.
- Send us a calendar we’re missing. If your library, park district or festival isn’t in our sources, a link is all we need.
- Sign up for the weekly email. Knowing people want it is what keeps it worth writing.
